In 2023, Lisa attended the London Meaningful Speech Conference, completed Gestalt Language Processing training and received the Basic Floortime certificate through DIRFloortime. Lisa is passionate about providing Neurodiversity affirming and inclusive practices to children with disabilities.

Over The Moon Therapy provides children with developmental challenges with occupational and speech therapy services. We believe that all parents deserve the opportunity to have fun with their child and that all children deserve to find ways to be comfortable, happy, and experience joy in the body they live in. We work closely with families to center their priorities and help them become the primary driver of their children’s developmental growth. Your child’s treatment plan will help your child enjoy and be successful with the activities you both need and want them to participate in. We provide Neurodiversity-affirming care based in DIRFloortime, a developmental, relationship based model of intervention. We offer a strongly connected therapeutic team using a trans-disciplinary approach ensuring that your treatment plan is well coordinated and focused on the whole child.
As therapists we are committed to providing you with high quality therapy that meets your individual needs. We will help you make a plan that integrates the needs of your family, your child, and your community, while keeping your connection to your child front and center. I am committed to providing you evidence based interventions and helping you and your child become the experts in your child’s care.
There is a myth that children with developmental disabilities, particularly those on the Autism spectrum don't want or are incapable of connection. I know this is untrue and I will help you and your child strengthen your connection and bond.
We see your child's unique way of being in the world as a feature, not a bug! All families deserve effective tools to support their children in their challenges, and to celebrate their one of a kind way of being .
We don't think your child needs to be fixed. Children with special needs deserve to have the world work for them, just as much as I believe they can learn the skills to participate in the world.
No matter the specific needs of their child. Parenting shouldn't be all work and no play.
Often we adults need to stop trying to change things and listen to what our children are telling us about how it feels to be them through their words, behaviors, and actions. The more we listen the better we can support our kids.
Relationships are how children learn about themselves and play is how children learn about the world around them.
At Over The Moon, you have the benefit of a team-based approach with a coordinated model of care. Our speech and OT services are grounded in the developmental model of DIRFloortime. This team approach provides coordinated support and yields stronger outcomes for children and families.
As therapists, we are committed to providing you with high quality therapy that meets your individual needs. We will help you make a plan that integrates the needs of your family, your child, and your community, while keeping your connection to your child front and center. We are committed to providing you evidence-based interventions and helping you and your child become the experts in your child’s care.
Occupational Therapy Evaluations typically include between 1 and 1.5 hours direct assessment with your child as well as a one hour interview with your therapist prior to the evaluation. During this parent meeting you will review your child's developmental history and make an appropriate plan for the evaluation session. Families are asked to fill out a developmental history form and submit it to the therapist 48 hours in advance of our first appointment. I will spend time playing with and getting to know your child and engaging them in fun activities that help me get a sense of how they process sensory information, how they move, and what they are drawn to in play. I will conduct some standardized testing to get a sense of more specific skills, but these are done playfully and are only a piece of the full assessment. Together we will decide if it makes sense to work together and what the focus of our work should be. I will send a written report with recommendations and initial treatment plan within a week of your evaluation. We will then meet together to discuss the evaluation and if you want to work with me further set goals and a treatment plan together. This evaluation is appropriate for children under 3 and children who are not yet able to follow verbal directions. Your therapist will help you determine which evaluation is best for your child at your intake interview. Cost: $550
This evaluation provides all of the assessment provided in the Standard Evaluation in addition to the Evaluation in Ayres Sensory Integration Test (EASI). The EASI is a comprehensive set of tests that assesses sensory perception, praxis skills, sensory reactivity, and sensory motor skills. These skills make up the foundation of learning and function and help provide a deep understanding of your child's sensory processing needs and profile. We will walk away from this assessment with a comprehensive written report as well as a clear path forward to an effective treatment plan. The EASI typically takes between 2-3 hours to administer and can be done over the course of one or two sessions. After completion of the report you will meet with your therapist for another hour to go over the results and make sure you have a solid understanding of the evaluation and the path forward. Cost: $900
Speech Therapy Evaluation Evaluations typically include between 1 and 1.5 hours direct assessment with your child as well as a one hour interview with your therapist prior to the evaluation. During this parent meeting you will review your child's developmental history and make an appropriate plan for the evaluation session. Families are asked to fill out a developmental history form and submit it to the therapist 48 hours in advance of our first appointment. I begin all evaluations with playing and building a relationship with your child. During play, I will be assessing play skills, as well as language being produced (and any sound errors, or difficulties imitating sounds), and a sense of how they understand language. While standardized testing will be administered, it is through playing and interview. I tend to use these assessments as a guide more than a tool for determining concerns. Through discussion with parents, we determine if treatment would be beneficial, and what the initial goals are. I then send an initial evaluation report, along with recommendations. We then meet with just therapist and parents to discuss the evaluation results, set goals, and determine a treatment plan. Cost: $550
Combined Evaluations include between 2 and 2.5 hours of face to face assessment time with your child. Prior to meeting you will spend an hour with both therapists reviewing your child's history and making an appropriate plan for evaluation. Families are asked to fill out a developmental history form and submit it to the therapists 48 hours in advance of our first appointment. If needed the evaluation can be split into two sessions but both therapists are present for the full evaluation. This option allows us to build a more comprehensive developmental profile for your child and is an excellent option for families who are wanting to develop a Comprehensive DIR/Floortime Program for their child. Standardized testing will be administered giving insight into sensory processing, motor skills, speech language capacities, and social emotional developmental skills. Following evaluation you will be sent a comprehensive write up to review and then have a parents meeting with both therapists to discuss the evaluation results, set goals and determine treatment planning.
Cost: $1000 (standard) or $1300 (includes EASI testing)
OT sessions last 50 minutes. Sensory integration is both a neurological process and a frame of reference that occupational therapists can use when treating children. OT-SI seeks to help children integrate their nervous system more efficiently so that they can learn and participate more easily. When working in this frame of reference a therapist will seek to find a just right challenge for a client, they will help provide the child with the input their nervous system needs in order to have an “adaptive response” which is a fancy way of saying be successful with whatever they were trying to do! That might mean they swing on a swing so they get the input they need to sit up straight and tall or learn to use two hands together to push that swing on their own. It might mean engaging in play with dry beans or rice and putting together a light bright picture so they can know their hands better in order to do things like zip up their sweater on their own. Cost: Sliding Scale See below
Therapy sessions last 50 minutes. DIR/Floortime is another frame of reference that used to treat children with a variety of developmental challenges. Therapy that uses a floortime approach takes into account the unique nervous system that a child has and helps their caregivers and adults find ways to connect to the child and draw them into a shared world. From there the therapist and caregivers find ways to challenge the child to master 6 functional emotional developmental levels. These capacities form the foundation of all other learning and growth and are fundamental to learning how to stay calm and regulated and attend. Floortime can be incorporated into speech or OT services and often children benefit when they recieve Floortime services throughtout their therapy program.
Coaching services are an opportunity for us to connect without the distractions of little ones to manage at the same time. Coaching often involved video review that either you submit to us or that we take together in our sessions. It gives us a chance to reflect on our own skills and your relationship with your child. During coaching we help you focus on you and your child's strengths and figure out how to best leverage your unique relationship to support your child's growth, learning, and development.
Coaching sessions are required once a quarter for all active clients.
Coaching sessions are billed at our regular hourly rate
